Four Seminoles named best in their sport
Seminole athletes Brianna Pena (wrestling), Emily Collins (water polo), Liam Chelkowski (tennis) and Amari Turner (track) were honored at the annual Night of Champions as the best in their respective sports.
Three-time District champion Chelkowski was named Boys Tennis player of the year. Chelkowski, who was named the Player of the Year in 2002, is a two-time Reginal Champion as well.
After amassing a 70-11 career record that included a pair of conference and district titles, Pena was named Girls Wrestler of the year. Pena is the first state qualifier from SHS as well.
Track speedster Turner for the second year was named Boys Track and Field athlete fo the year. Turner is a four-time State Champion, a three-time All-SAC champion.
The final Nole honored was All-Conference girls Water Polo player Cummings. She helped lead the ‘Noles to two Final Four appearances.
