Coches Clearance

ALL COACHES CLEARANCE DOCUMENTS WILL BE SUBMITTED ONLINE. YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO COACH UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN CLEARED BY THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT.
COACHES CLEARANCE (PAID H VOLUNTEER} MUST BE RENEWED EVERY SCHOOL YEAR

  1. Visit www.CoachesClearance.com and choose Florida.
  2. Register or login to your account. You must register with a valid email address, as this is where you will receive communication from the Athletic Department as well as from your clearance file, including whether you are cleared to coach.
  3. Select “Start Clearance Here” to start the process.
  4. Select the school year, select “SEMINOLE (SANFORD)”, and add all sports that you coach. If you coach multiple sports, click “Add New Position.”
  5. On the “Coach Information” tab, complete the Coach Information with your contact information.
  6. On the “Certifications” tab, upload all required coaching clearance documents. If a document is not required for the position you coach, select “No” under “Turn Into Office.” All required documents, please select Upload Certification, then Browse to Attach. Directions to access all videos and certifications ore included on the next pages of this document.
    Required coaching certifications for PAID COACHES include:
    o NFHS Concussion in Sports Certificate (FHSAA Policy 40)
    o NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate (FHSAA Policy 41)
    o NFHS Heat Illness Prevention Certificate (FHSAA Policy 42)
    o NFHS/FHSAA Policy 36 Recruiting Course (FHSAA Policy 36)
    o CPR/ AED Certification – valid for two years
    o SCPS Medication Administration Basics Certificate
    o SCPS Medication Policy and Procedure Certificate
    o Football Coaches: Football Tackling and Contact Video Course (valid four years)
    Required coaching certifications for VOLUNTEER COACHES include:
    o NFHS/FHSAA Policy 36 Recruiting Course (FHSAA Policy 36)
    o SCPS Volunteer Coach Form (TURN FORMS IN TO NILSA RAMOS) – signatures from
    Mr.Pfeiffer and Lakisya Killingsworth
    o SCPS will send a Volunteer Coach Clearance Email from Katie Burris
    o Football Coaches: Football Tackling and Contact Video Course (NFHS Course -Valid 4 Years)
  7. Continue through the “Program Information” tab, as there is not any additional program information required.
  8. On the “Signatures” tab, complete all electronic signatures. This is your acknowledgement of reading the Zach Martin Act Handout & watching the Zach Martin Act videos, adhering to all Seminole High School, SCPS & FHSAA rules, ensuring that you will only allow cleared student-athletes to participate, ensuring that you will supervise student-athletes at all times, ensuring that you will not engage in any activities that could be deemed athletic recruiting, and understanding the SCPS Citizenship Policy, and all SCPS Staff Conduct and Responsibilities.
  9. Once you reach the confirmation message you have completed the process and your file has been submitted to the Athletic Department for review. The Athletic Department will then review your file and you will receive an email stating whether you have been cleared to coach or denied based on missing information. You can also log back into your account to view clearance or denial information. If you have been denied, please correct the missing items and submit again for approval.

NFHS 6 FHSAA REOUIRED COURSES

FHSAA Policy requires that all PAID coaches complete four courses through the National Federation of State High School Associations website. These courses must be taken & renewed each school year.

Course you must complete

Concussion in Sports {FHSAA Policy 40)

Heat Illness Prevention {FHSAA Policy 41)

Sudden Cardiac Arrest {FHSAA Policy 42) NFHS/FHSAA Policy 36 Recruiting (https://nfhslearn.com/courses/fhsaa-policy-36-recruiting-course)

Step 1: Go to www.nfhslearn.com.
Step 2: “Sign In” to your account using the e-mail address and password you provided at time of registering for an nfhslearn account. If you do not have an account, “Register” for an account.
Step 3: Click “Courses” at the top of the page.
Step 4: Either scroll down to the title of the course from the list of courses or search for the name of the course.
Step 5: Click “View Course”.
Step 6: Click “Order Course.”
Step 7: Select “Myself” if the course will be completed by you.
Step 8: Click “Continue” and follow the on-screen prompts to finish the checkout process. (Note: There is no fee for this course.)
Step 9: Click “Begin Course” on the course you wish to take.

To Complete the course

SCPS REQUIRED MEDICATlON COURSES

Seminole County Public Schools requires that all coaches complete two medication courses through the Safe Schools. These courses must be taken & renewed each school year.

Courses you must complete:

  1. Medication Administration Basics
  2. Medication Policy and Procedure Training

To complete the courses:

Step 1: Go to www.scps.k12.fl.us & sign into the Portal and use the Search Window for Safe Schools. Step 2: Click on the Safe Schools Training app.
Step 3: Sign into Safe Schools Tile using your SCPS Employee ID number.

Step 4: At the bottom of the page, click “View Library”.
Step 5: Find “Medication Administration Basics” under Health and find
“Medication Policy and Procedure Training” under Policy.
Step 6: Click the course to begin. If you have previously taken the course, make
sure you select “Restart Course”.
Step 7: Complete the course. Click on the certificate button and save the certificate. Step 8: Print the certificate and “Save as a PDF.”

When you have completed these courses, upload the certificates into your account on www.CoachesClearance.com
