RECAP: Noles boys volleyball wins upset

LAKE MARY – Seminole won the final set 27-25 to put away Number 2 seed Spruce Creek in the FHSAA 1A District 3 tournament on April 30 at Lake Mary High School. The Noles took the first set 25-21, before winning the final two 25-14, and 27-25 to lock up the win to advance to a District finals match-up with host Lake May on May 2. Game time is 6pm. Smith, Rattansi lose in tie-break at tennis state tournament ALTAMONTE SPRINGS – The doubles team of Kyndall Smith and Saamiyah Rattansi, took the opening set 6-4 but lost 5-10 in tie-breaking set but in the opening round of the FHSAA 4A state finals at Sanlando Park. The two freshman lost the second set 6-1. The previously undefeated Smith had a busy day playing against top-seeded Jessica Popescu 6-4, 6-1 earlier in the day.

Recap: Baseball, softball win season finales

Seminole won the first of back-to-back games with visiting University (Orange City) on April 25 winning 9-8 for the Noles have won three in a row at home. University has lost six of their last eight games. However, they managed to turn the tables on Thursday, emerging victorious with a score of 9-8. This win marked their second consecutive victory, and they showed no mercy towards their opponents. Miles Bryan pitched an inning and not giving up any earned runs or hits. He has been consistent in his performances, having not given up more than one walk in his last six pitching appearances. Jadenlee Echevarria, who scored a run, stole a base, and went 2-for-4 led Seminole at the plate. Noah Johnson scored a run, stole two bases, and going 1-for-3. The two teams with square off on April 29 at University in the first round of the7A  FHSSA District 4 playoffs, game time is 430pm. Softball runs over University 16-1 ORLANDO – Alexandra Steffano kept things locked down on the mound, allowing no earned runs or hits while striking out seven players over five innings pitched to help Seminole blow out host University 16-1 on April 25. She also scored two runs, stealing a base, and going 3-for-5 at the plate. Liana Neal scored two runs, stealing four bases, and getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Ava Hertz was 1-for-1, scoring two runs, hitting a triple, and securing an RBI. Seminole has been on a winning streak lately, having won 11 of its last 12.
