Boys track wins, tennis sweeps Lake Howell

OVIEDO — The boys and girls track teams turned in strong performances this week at Hagerty High School, highlighted by a first-place finish from the boys squad.

Jayden Aristile and Nygel Pardo led the boys with top finishes in the high jump. Kamahji Walker won the long jump, while Marquis Streater, Keelan Davis and Pardo swept the top three spots in the triple jump. Julin Rogers also took first place in the shot put.

The girls team finished as runners-up, paced by Natalia Voltaire, who delivered a top performance in the 100-meter dash. Imani Reid claimed first place in the 100-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. Khaliya King led the high jump, while Reilly Walker and Voltaire turned in strong efforts in the long jump. Avery Hicks added a standout performance in the triple jump.

Boys Lacrosse

Seminole rolled past Lyman 22-3 behind a dominant performance from Robert Delany, who finished with 10 goals and two assists.

Antonio Rivers, Myles Smith and Jacob Cannone also found the net for the Noles. Defenders Brian Bush and John Benninghove added goals as well.

On Feb. 20, Parker Mull scored the winning goal as Seminole edged visiting Melbourne 6-5 Robert Delany had four, anjd Jacob Cannone added a goal in the win.

TENNIS

Against Lake Howell, both the girls and boys teams earned 7-0 wins.

On the girls side, Saamiyah Rattansi, Maggie Sun, Caitlin Sun, Chloe Moo and Sarina Rattansi all won their singles matches. Rattansi and Sun teamed up for a doubles victory, while Harshitha Chukkareddygari and Sasha Cherukuri also picked up a doubles win.

The boys matched the performance with a 7-0 sweep. Singles victories came from Aditya Madhaven, Jai Gupta, Hamza Rattansi, Ekansh Rastogi and Naitik Srivastava. In doubles play, Madhaven and Gupta won at the top line, while Rattansi and Rastogi secured another point.

The girls team also earned a 6-1 victory over Oviedo High School. Saamiyah Rattansi, Maggie Sun, Chloe Moo and Sarina Rattansi won their singles matches, while Caitlin Sun dropped a close contest. In doubles, the teams of Rattansi and Sun, and Caitlin Sun and Moo, both earned wins.
