The Seminole girls jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back downing Gainesville 21-3 in the FHSAA Regional Quarterfinals at Seminole on April 14.
Fiona Pando with 7 goals and Halle Zimlich with 5 goals led the way for the Noles. Vivian Swain added 4 goals and 3 assists in the win.
Seminole moves on to play Lake Mary in the Regional Semi-Finals set for April 16 at home. Game time is 4pm.
BOYS LACROSSE: Robert Delany had 4 goals as Seminole fell short in the District Semi-Finals 11-7 to Lake Mary on April 14.
Jared Dongili, Antonio Rivers and Liam Souza accounted for the other Seminole goals in the loss.


BOYS WEIGHTLIFTING: The Seminole had a solid showing at the State Meet on April 12, lead by Marshawn Taylor placed 4th in 219 and Jadon Blake 5th in unlimited to help the Noles to an 11th place finish.
Other results: Luis Ojeda placed 7th overall in the 119 class; TJ Thompson placed 9th overall in the 238 class; Lord victor Maldonado placed 10th overall in the 154 class; Roberto Castillo placed 11th overall in the 199 class; David Parks placed 12th overall in the 219 class.
