At times it can be the little things that separate a team from a win or in the case of Seminole against Lake Mary a loss.
In a game that was rescheduled to a Monday night because of Hurricane Milton, the visiting Rams win 29-15 on Oct 14.
“They are a good football team, they were better than us tonight and we missed out on some opportunities that we should have cashed in on,” said coach Karl Calhoun. “We saw a few things bad and good. It’s been crazy with the Hurricane, that’s no excuse. We needed to show up and play and they did that tonight.”
Lake Mary jumped out to a 6-0 lead midway through the second quarter on a pair of field goals.
The Seminoles scored to take the lead when quarterback Jeysen Williams found David Parks on a 15-yard pass, the Liam Allen PAT put the Noles up 7-6. From there, it was Lake Mary’s game building a 19-7 lead before Williams took the ball into the endzone on a 6-yard run with 3 minutes left in the third quarter. That would be the closest the Noles would get in a game that will mostly decide the District title.
“We had a new quarterback out there tonight; he did a good job and held his own” Calhoun said. “We threw him into the fire, but (as a team) we just need to show up and play.”
Seminole travels to TFA on Friday, Oct 18 kick off is set for 7pm.
