ALTAMONTE SPRINGS – Seminole jumped out early and never looked back, cruising at a 61-8 at Lake Brantley in the Noles opening district game on Sept. 27

“I happy the boys were able to do that. All three phases of the game were clicking tonight.”
Four minutes into the game, quarterback Michael Clayton found David Parks on the first of the duo’s touchdowns on the night. After a Khamani Robinson 10-yard scoring run put the visiting Noles up 14-0, Clayton found Parks again, this time the senior pulled in an acrobatic one handed 30-yard pass and a Seminole 21-0 lead with four minutes left in the first quarter.
“(Parks is) just a heck of the talent, Howard is getting a heck of the player,” Calhoun said. “Clayton also played great tonight, threw a lot of great passes.”
The junior quarterback was 9-of-19 for 120 yards on the night, 41 of those went to Parks on 2 passes. Clayton also accounted for four passing touchdowns in the win. He added another on a 5-yard run late in the half.
“(Clayton is) getting more and more comfortable, comfortable with our system, comfortable what we do and it shows,” Calhoun said. “He’s comfortable being here and the role as a Seminole quarterback. It’s a historic position to be in and he’s going to be the next great one to come out of here.”
