Liam Allen connected on four field goals and the host Seminoles returned two kickoffs for touchdowns for a 34-14 win over Heritage on Aug. 30.
J’Len Chapman took the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown to help set the tone for the Seminoles special teams from the onset.
“Special teams came out and were dominate for us,” Seminole coach Karl Calhoun said. “Liam Allen has been amazing, the touch backs (and field goals), just show his work he’s put in.”
Allen was also 3 for 4 on PATs in the victory.
Allen scored the first of his four field goals in the first quarter as Seminole jumped out 10-0 early. A Michael Clayton scramble for a touchdown put the Noles up 17-0 at the half.
Juan Berchal added the Noles second return with 8 minutes left. Berchal found a seam and went 88 yards for the touchdown.
The Seminole defense held Heritage scoreless until a Panther touchdown with under two minutes left in the third.
“Very proud of the defense, they came back and responded after a couple weeks ago,” Calhoun said. “I’m just very happy we just came out and played football.”
