Turner leads way at States

JACKSONVILLE – Seminole won its third-straight 4×100 boys state championship to help lead the Noles to a third place team finish at the FHSAA 4A State Track and Field Championship.

Seniors Amari Turner and Marshae McDonald, junior Nazir Givens and sophomore Trarell Beckford ran a blistering 40.86 to win the 4×100. Turner teamed up with McDonald, Givens and senior Tyriq Lewis to win the 4×400 relay in 3:14.51.

Turner also ran two of the fastest sprint times — 10.37 in the 100 and 20.90 in the 200 to place second in both events.

On the girls side, senior Sarai Simpson took second in the shot put with a toss of 41-7.
