LONGWOOD — Seminole’s boys weightlifting team turned in a strong performance Wednesday night at the Seminole Athletic Conference meet at Lyman High School, finishing third in Olympic-style lifts and fourth overall in the conference standings.

Seminole had multiple individual standouts, highlighted by conference champions in both traditional and Olympic lifts.

Luis Ojeda captured the 119-pound conference title in traditional-style lifts.

Said Djalilov won the 139-pound conference championship in traditional-style lifts and added a runner-up finish in Olympic-style lifts.

TJ Thompson earned the conference title in Olympic-style lifts in the 238-pound class and finished second in traditional-style lifts.

Omari Griffin placed second in traditional-style lifts and third in Olympic-style lifts in the 183-pound class.

Water Polo

CLERMONT — Seminole split a girls and boys water polo doubleheader against West Orange on March 10.

The Seminole girls earned a 15-11 victory. Julia Pando recorded 10 saves and two assists, while Vivian Swain added six assists. Raelynn Bouley and Gabby Pierson each finished with three steals, and Halle Zimlich and Naia Hair had two steals apiece.

The Seminole boys fell 11-9. Ethan Pierson totaled seven saves and three steals, Timmy Samples had three assists, and Caiden Thompson added two assists.
