WINTER SPRINGS – After struggling a bit in the first three games of the season, the girls Flag Football team downed Lyman 12-6 for the first win in program history on March 5.
“Tonight I’m extremely proud of our girls,” said Seminole coach Eric Martin. “We accomplished the hardest thing to do for any start up program, which is get our first win.
“Now that the girls have a taste for it and they know that it’s attainable, we’re only going up from here.”
After a back-and forth start to the game, Lyman struck first when the Greyhounds scored in the second quarter.
On the ensuing drive, Noles running back Alyssa Braun broke free and found the endzone to help the Nole tie the game at six.
It was amazing to see our girls fight and play hard for four straight quarters and see the result pay off our favor tonight.”
We had great Offensive and Defensive stands, and plays by quite a few of our players that helped contribute to a 12 to 6 win tonight
