Recap: Boys weightlifting shines, soccer basketball stumble

As spring sports get going, winter sports headed into post-season play. The Noles boys weight lifters got things going with several lifters taking top honors against Lake Brantley on Feb 5.

In the 119 class, Luis Ojeda placed first in Olympic and traditional.
139 class, Nathan McGinley placed 2nd in Olympic 
154 class, Lordvictor Maldonado placed 1st in traditional and 2nd in Olympic. Javien Thames placed 3rd in Olympic. 
169 class, Kyler Carroll placed 2nd in Olympic. 
183 class, Joran Ferguson placed 2nd in traditional. 

199 class, Kamerin Collins placed 1st in traditional. 
219 class, David Parks placed 2nd in Olympic. 
238 class, Terrence Thompson Jr. placed 2nd in Olympic.
Unlimited weight class, Jadon Blake placed 1st in traditional and 2nd in Olympic. Ashaad Bakhsh placed 3rd in traditional. 

Boys basketball stumbles at Lake Mary

LAKE MARY – Early mistakes cost Seminole in the District district semi-finals as the host Rams got by the Noles 50-42.
Jorden Pittman led the Noles with 16 points in the loss.
Seminole does move on to the FHSAA 7A Regionals where they will travel to University (Orlando). Game time is 7pm on Feb 12.
