The FHSAA released the football playoff brackets on Nov 5 and Seminole is the second seed behind Lake Mary in Class 4M region 1.
The overall number two ranked Seminoles will host 29th ranked Hagerty on Nov 10 at 7pm.
“We’re excited to be home for the playoffs,” said Seminole coach Karl Calhoun. “I am happy for our guys, they have worked hard all season and have earned this chance.”
Seminole finished the regular season 8-2, with loses to class 4S third ranked Treasure Coast and Class 2S top ranked Cocoa. Both teams are top seeds in their respective regions.
The Huskies finished the season 6-4 with losses to district champion Oviedo, class 4M 10th ranked Winter Park (the 4th seed in 4m Region 1), class 4S 18th ranked Spruce Creek and class 4S 11th ranked University (Orange City).
On the ground the Huskies are led by Jalon Lewis, who averaged 76 yards per game this season while rushing for 685 yards. Chance Bennett was the Huskies leading receiver with 68.9 yards per game and 620 on the year. Bennett also added seven touchdowns, while Lewis had six. Quarterback Caden Mitchell threw for 1717 yards and 16 touchdowns on the season.
The Regional final could be a rematch with top ranked Lake Mary with the winner of that game playing the winner of Region 2 in the state semi-finals.
