Boys 2nd, girls 8th at Trinity Prep Invite

WINTER PARK — Seminole’s boys cross country team finished second and the girls team placed eighth Saturday at the Trinity Prep Invite, competing on a wet course that was muddy in places.

The Seminole boys scored 52 points, finishing behind Hagerty’s winning total of 24. Oviedo was third with 58 points and Trinity Prep finished fourth with 106.

Tyler Clarke-Lowery led the Seminole boys, finishing sixth overall in 17:54.81. Jadan Prudot was eighth in 18:10.98, followed by Akshay Bangalore in 11th at 18:26.30. Giovany Rodriguez placed 13th in 18:40.77, and Brady Clark rounded out Seminole’s five scoring runners in 14th at 18:43.94.

Oscar Loredo finished 17th in 18:55.97, while Joseph Fisher was 24th in 19:58.14.

On the girls side, Seminole scored 174 points to finish eighth. Hagerty won the team competition with 19 points, followed by Oviedo with 48 and Trinity Prep with 89.

Sophomore Nimrah Qureshi led Seminole, finishing 32nd in 27:48.61.

Senior Ellie Pereira finished 33rd in 27:58.05, while sophomore Estelle Coffee finished 35th in 28:09.39. Sophomore Vyshnavi Behara was 36th in 28:15.19, and sophomore Nina Sucre rounded out Seminole’s in 38th at 28:38.75.

The Seminole pack produced an average time of 28:10, with just 50.2 seconds separating the team’s five scoring runners.

Seminole’s 174 points placed the team ahead of only East River among the eight teams listed in the team standings.
